The production of colored cased crystal is a complex process in which high-quality clear lead crystal is combined with a colored layer. It begins with the creation of a beechwood mold that defines the final shape of the piece. In the glassworks, artisans hand-blow and shape the molten crystal. The semi-finished product is then taken to the grinding wheel, where the edges are cleaned. In the design room, workers sketch the decorative lines, which are then precisely cut by the most experienced master cutters. After polishing, which enhances the brilliance and depth of the decoration, each piece is carefully packed and prepared for shipping. The entire process is done completely by hand, ensuring the uniqueness of every product and reflecting the rich tradition of Czech glassmaking art.
